Vijayapura: Vishwa Prasannateertha Swamy of Pejawar Matha has suggested that people not donate money to the temples, but instead use the same money to directly help the needy people.
Addressing media persons on Tuesday January 17, he said that often acquisition is being heard that the money donated to temples is being misused or falling into the wrong hands.
“The best way to counter these allegations is to stop donating the money to temples, instead use the same money for the welfare of people. If a person has the capacity to get at least a small home built for the poor, do it. It will help the poor person have his home, at the same time, the allegations of misuse of funds donated to the temples will be countered properly,” he said.
Replying to the critics who are asking what the nation will get if Ram temple is built in Ayodhya, the Seer has given a solution that he felt would silence such critics.
“I suggest the people launch a campaign before the next Ram Navami where they should start doing something for the welfare of poor and needy people. They should help underprivileged people in any manner possible. At the end of the year, a mobile application called ‘Ramarajyam’ should be developed where the list of all welfare projects done in each taluk, district and State should be uploaded. I am certain that this mega exercise will silence the critics who are asking what India will achieve or gain if Ram Temple is built,” he said.
The Seer said that people should start doing some social work in the name of Lord Ram which could be treated as a gift to Lord Ram.
He said that the service of Ram is equal to the service of the nation. The seer wondered when common people can do work for society, then why politicians who are rich and have a lot of resources at their disposal, can’t serve society.
