Vijayapura: In the wake of demise of Siddeshwara Seer of Gnanayogashrama, Sri Siddeshwara Samstha has decided to celebrate the Nammoora Jatre of the City deity Siddeshwara this year in a simple manner. The celebrations will be limited to religious events.
Speaking at a joint press meet in City on Tuesday January 10, MLA and Sri Siddeshwara Samstha President Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, and Chairman Basaiah Hiremath said that the cattle fair at Siddeshwara Jatra Mahotsava has been cancelled. We have cancelled the fireworks programme. We have also decided not to allow shops to be set up on both sides of the Temple premises,” he said.
“We have decided to cancel all major grand events at the fair and restrict it to religious events like Nandikolu Utsava, Pallakki Utsava, Bhogi, Homas etc., he added.
