Vijayapur: Continuing his tirade against pro-Kannada outfits of the State, BJP MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has called Karnataka Rakshana Vedike as ‘Kallara Rakshna Vedike’ ( A forum to protect thieves).
He appealed to the people not to support the Karnataka Bandh called by pro-Kannada outfits on December 5.

Opposing the Bandh that has been called to protest against the formation of a welfare board for Marathas, Yatnal accused pro-Kannada outfits of extorting traders in the name of Kannada.

“These fake Kannada activists have only a job to extort people and live a lavish life on the money of others. They never really work for Kannada. While their children study in English medium schools, they talk of Kannada in public. That is the hypocrisy of these people”, he said.

Stating that the noted Kannada activist, Vatal Nagaraj will lose his relevance in public after December 5, he said that Nagaraj who was incapable of not securing even five votes in MLCs polls has no right to talk against him.

Equating opposition to the welfare board for Marathas as a systematic plan to divide Hindus, Yatnal said that some people are trying to divide Hindu communities.

Challenging the outfits to show by making the Bandh successful, Yatnal claimed that nobody will support the Bandh and it will be a total fail. Reacting to the statement of Yatnal against pro-Kannada outfits, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike district president, M. C. Mulla accused Yatnal of talking like the agency of Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES).

While addressing the press, he wondered why Yatnal has so much fear about Kannada organizations that he has been speaking so much ill about these outfits.

Replying to the allegations that Kannada activists are extorting, he asked how much honest and non-corrupt Yatnal himself is that he is resorting to calling others as corrupt. He said that while the traders are supporting the Bandh, due to Yatnal’s threats of dire consequences, the traders are warped in fear.

Mulla reiterated that the Bandh would be held in the State and there was no question of withdrawing it.
