Bengaluru: According to sources, the ambitious 117.3-kilometer 10-lane Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway, which would reduce travel time between the two cities from three hours to 90 minutes, is on track to reach its revised deadline of October 2022, as set by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials informed that the first phase from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta in Mandya District would be completed on next year by May, while the second phase from Nidaghatta to Mysuru will be completed in September.
The Rs. 8,172-crore project aims to expand the four highway to six lanes, with four service lanes and paved shoulders on both sides for two-wheelers and autorickshaws.
