Bengaluru: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced 1,500 additional buses heading to various parts of the state and to cities and towns in neighbouring states for passengers to avoid Diwali rush.
Special buses will exclusively operate from Bengaluru Kempegowda Bus Station to Dharmastala, Kukke Subramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapur, Shringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubli, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati, Pavagada, Hosadurga among other places. Special buses from Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station will operate towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Virajpet, Kushalnagar and Madikeri. Premier (special) buses will operate from Shanthinagar BMTC Bus Stand to Madurai, Kumbakonam, Trichy, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
In a special offer for passengers, a discount of 5 per cent on the fare will be extended if four or more passengers book on a single ticket and a discount of 10 per cent is offered on a return journey ticket if the ticket for both journeys are booked simultaneously.
