Bengaluru: City police commissioner Bhaskara Rao imposed prohibitory orders as per the section 144 of the IPC in the city today as part of the 27th anniversary of the Babri masjid demolition.
Security has been stepped up across the city. Meanwhile, prohibitory orders have been imposed in several towns and cities across the state including in Madikeri town as a precautionary measure.
According to the police sources, no permission has been granted to any organisation to conduct any event in connection to the Adyodhya dispute in any part of the city. As Ayodhya verdict was delivered recently police does not want to take any risks.
Meanwhile, various dalit organisations are celebrating the death anniversary (Maha Parinirvana Day) of the nationalist leader BR Ambedkar today across the state. Several events are lined up to remember the legacy of Ambedkar and his contribution to the reforms in modern India.
