Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that 29 cabinet ministers will take oath in the Glass House of Raj Bhavan on Wednesday August 4 at 2.15 pm.

Bommai made the announcement in a press meet from Vidhana Soudha along with the State-in-charge Arun Singh. He further explained that Cabinet members include 8 Ligayats, 7 Vokkaliga, 7 OBC, 3 SC, 1 ST, 2 Brahmins and one woman. During the Cabinet formation, a total of 14 MLAs and MLCs have received calls from CM Basavaraj Bommai for induction into the Karnataka government. Bommai also added that the Cabinet list doesn’t have former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa’s son B.Y. Vijayendra.

Addressing the media persons, he said that, “Party President J.P. Nadda, State in-charge Arun Singh and I have personally conveyed the message to Yediyurappa Ji.”

He also made it clear that a detailed discussion was held with party President and there was no question of any pressure in taking decisions. He expressed that the ministers will be a group of experienced and fresh faces in order to ensure that the government and ruling party are prepared to face the difficulties as well as the next electoral battles.

Bommai thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President J. P. Nadda for guiding in the formation of Cabinet.
