Bengaluru: The National Center for Seismology (NSC) has informed that an earthquake of magnitude 3.3 hit the City on Wednesday December 22.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said the earthquakes of 3.1 and 3.3 magnitude occurred in Chikkaballapur region located 66 kms away from Bengaluru.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.3, Occurred on 22-12-2021, 07:14:32 IST, Lat: 13.55 and Long: 77.76, Depth: 23 Km, Location: 66km NNE of Bengaluru, Karnataka,” NSC tweeted.

It is confirmed that two slight intensity earthquakes hit Chikkaballapura, the neighbouring District of Bengaluru. The first earthquake took place at about 7.09 am and second at 7.14 am, according to the NCS.
After tremors were felt, panicked villagers of Chikkaballapur Taluk rushed out of their homes.
The earthquake was felt in Bisegarahalli, and Shettygere villages. The villages in Chintamani and Mandikal Taluks have also experienced the earthquake. Bagepalli Taluk of Chikkaballapur District last experienced the 3.0 magnitude quake in 2018.
