3 dists have achieved over 100% first dose vaccination: Min Dr Sudhakar

Bengaluru: Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar on Thursday December 16 said that three districts of the State have achieved more than 100 per cent first dose coverage of Covid-19 vaccination.

Minister said, “the highest first dose coverage is in Bengaluru Urban with 127 per cent of the target covered, followed by Gadag with 102% and Vijayapura with 101%. In a new milestone in vaccination coverage, the State has covered 96 per cent of its eligible population with the first dose (4.7 crore population as against 4.9 crore population over 18 years of age). In most of the districts, the second dose coverage is also above 80%. We are hoping to vaccinate the entire eligible population by this December-end.”

Further, five other districts are on the verge of completing 100% first dose coverage. While Kodagu and Bagalkote districts have touched 99%, Belagavi, Chikkaballapura and Davanagere have vaccinated 98% of its population.
