Bengaluru: Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar said 3900 people in the state have been infected by black fungus so far.
In response to the question raised by MLA Eshwara Khandre in assembly, he said, “the government has decided to provide free treatment and 96,060 vials of Liposomal amphotericin (a drug used to treat black fungus) has been procured.”
Regarding the shortage of supply of drugs for black fungus in Bidar Sudhakar said, there is no shortage of Liposomal amphotericin, but there is a shortage of Posaconazole. Already indent has been raised and it will be sent to districts including Bidar in 3-4 days,” he added.
