Bengaluru: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sealed the head office of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) following the complaints of rampant corruption.
On Friday Novermber 19 and Saturday November 20, the ACB with over 75 personnel including police officers carried out raids on offices of deputy secretaries, special land acquisition officer and others located in the premises, based on tip off that BDA officers were indulging in huge misappropriation, fabricating with land records and creation of fake documents in exchange of huge bribes, and seized property records worth Rs. 100 crores related to the corruption in the site allotments.
Inspection was carried out in chambers of 30 officers. The ACB officials have locked several chambers for the further investigation. In the initial findings it was found that a firm in the City was allocated as many as 35 sites illegally to private institution near KR Puram. Duplicate entries, transfer of BDA money to personal accounts were also traced.
The ACB officials have decided to continue the investigation based on the initial findings. Sources said that the BDA officers will be inquired and questioned based on the evidences gathered.
The BDA is the planning authority for Bengaluru. The BDA acquires land in and around the Bengaluru city and develops residential layouts and commercial buildings.
