Bengaluru: Pranitha Subhash, a multilingual star of South India who has acted opposite majority of the male superstars of South India has done the unthinkable! In a first of its kind novel gesture by any cine actress from the state, she has adopted a government Kannada medium school. She will spend Rs 5 Lakh on the development of the adopted school.
She handed over a cheque of Rs 5 Lakh to an NGO called Save Government Schools which will facilitate the school adoption in her name.
Speaking to reporters, Anil Shetty who is carrying out a movement called Save Government Schools through the NGO informed that Pranitha donated Rs 5 Lakh towards the adoption of any government school. “We are yet to finalise the school which will be adopted by her. Several school headmasters have written to us in this regard,” he said.
“We will adopt any school from Hassan in her name,” he added.
