Bengaluru: An advocate who hacked his lover in the Karnataka High Court premises, eight years ago, has been pronounced guilty and has been given life imprisonment.
SL Rajappa is now assured of spending his time behind bars for a lifetime, as the City Civil and Sessions Court gave verdict of life imprisonment on the charges of murdering Naveena.
On July 8, 2010, Rajappa, who suspected Naveena of cheating him, is said to have planned and entered the court premises with a knife. During the lunch break of the court, both had a heated argument and during the course of the argument, Naveena threatened Rajappa of ending their relationship. Raged by this, Rajappa stabbed her to death. Soon after this, Rajappa has tried to end his life by consuming poison, but it was a futile bid as the police nabbed him.
Rajappa, a native of Kolar, was found guilty of carrying out pre-meditated murder, by the sessions court.
