Bengaluru: Seeking an aid of Rs 4,656 crore to take up drought relief works in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddarmaiah will lead an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, December 9.
Siddaramaiah is set to submit a revised memorandum seeking central assistance of Rs 4,656 crore to take up drought relief works. A detailed study of the impact of drought in 139 taluks and floods in many parts of northern Karnataka was taken up after which a revised memorandum was prepared.
Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah who reached New Delhi on Thursday cited displeasure as the PM’s office had not confirmed an appointment as of Thursday night. The CM held a meeting with the MPs from Karnataka and discussed the issues to be taken up with the Prime Minister. Accoding to sources, Siddaramaiah is also expected to request Modi yet again to intervene and resolve the Mahadayi river water row between Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
