Bengaluru: A 23-years-old alcoholic son sets his mother on fire for not giving him money to purchase liquor, in Bengaluru. The Sadashivanagar police have registered an attempt to murder case against the son.
According to the Sadashivanagar police, Uttam Kumar (23), a resident of Ashwathnagar under the Sadashivanagar police limits sought money from his mother Bharati (54) for liquor. Unable to accept the fact that she refused to pay him money, a raged Uttam poured petrol on his mother and set her on fire.
However, Bharathi’s husband Vasudev rushed to her rescue and called 100 seeking police help. A police team rushed to the spot and admitted Bharati to the KR hospital of the city for the treatment. She has sustained 30% burn injuries.
Vasudev is working in a private firm while his wife Bharati is working as a domestic help. Uttam Kumar is college droput and unemployed.
