Ambi’s body airlifted from Mandya; CM HDK accompanies in copter

Bengaluru: The mortal remains of ‘Rebel Star’ M H Ambareesh were airlifted from Sir M Visvesvaraya stadium in Mandya on Monday, November 26, at around 10.47 AM. The body is being taken in an Air Force copter to Bengaluru. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Ambareesh’s wife Sumalatha, and his son Abhishek are en route in the same copter.

Earlier, speaking to the media at the stadium, the CM informed that more than 2.5 lakh fans took darshan of the mortal remains from Sunday, 5.30 PM. “We wanted to ensure that all of Ambi’s fans and supporters were able to pay their last respects. So, we arranged for the public homage in Mandya city,” he said.

According to sources, three helicopters arrived from Bengaluru to Mandya on Monday morning. “VIPs including minister C S Puttaraju, S R Mahesh, D C Thammanna and others are travelling the in the other two copters,” said police.
