Dharawad: The members of the Anjuman Islam Organisation visited the Anjaneya Temple in Nuggikeri here where 5 tonnes of watermelon which were being sold by a Muslim vendor was destroyed by Sri Rama Sene members, recently.
This water melon destruction incident led to massive criticism against the State Government and Sangh Parivar.
Former Minister A. M. Hindasageri, Congress Leader Ismalil Tamatagara and others were part of this delegation.
Later Temple Priest Narasimha Desai said that the temple management does not discriminate against any person based on his caste or religion. “Soon we will hold a meeting and take a decision on this incident,” he said.
