Bengaluru: Three bike-borne unidentified men stabbed a 42-year-old BJP activist to death in Kamakshipalya on Tuesday night, November 8.
The deceased, identified as Chikkatimmegowda is a resident of Hegganahalli Cross near Sunkadakatte. He was into real estate business and was also a construction contractor. It is said that Chikkatimmegowda was close to a local BBMP corporator.
Police said that Chikkatimmegowda, along with his friend Naganna, had gone to his new house to drop off some things for the house warming ceremony which was to be held on Wednesday. He was returning home on his motorcycle at around 9:20 pm when the bike-borne men waylaid him and crashed into his bike. When he fell down, they stabbed him with a sharp weapon and fled.
Kamakshipalya police, who were informed about the incident, rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem.
The police, who are suspecting an old rivalry or a financial dispute behind the murder, stated that there was an attempt to kill Gowda six months back.
