Bengaluru: The “Arogya Karnataka” project, implemented by the state government with an objective to provide free treatment to poor families, has received good response from across the state. On the first day itself, around 1117 health cards have been issued in various hospitals across the state.
With this, the Arogya Karnataka project, which will provide free health services to more than 1.43 crore families, was launched on March 5. A registration process is in progress in selected government hospitals. The beneficiaries can collect the health cards within a few minutes, with the help of ration cards and Aadhaar cards.
In the first phase of the project, free treatment can be availed from 10 hospitals including SNR of Kolar, McGann of Shivamogga, K C General Hospital of Bengaluru, Shri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, BMCRI Bengaluru, MIMS Mandya, Wenlock of Mangaluru, VIMS Bellary, KIMS Dharwad and GIMS Kalaburagi.
Under the “Arogya Karnataka” project, at Rs 30,000 per member, a 5-member family will get a health coverage of Rs 1.5 Lakh.
