Bengaluru: The ashes of nearly 1,200 Covid-19 victims whose families refused to collect the ashes from city crematoriums would be immersed in the river Cauvery in Belakavadi, Malavalli taluk of Mandya district, by Revenue Minister R. Ashoka.

Minister will arrive at 12 pm to the village and later immerse ash in the river.

According to the authorities, family members of over 1,200 Covid 19 victims declined to collect ash and perform the final rites. As per the Hindu tradition now minister will perform the final rites.
