Bengaluru: Thousands of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) took out a rally in Bengaluru under the leadership of Karnataka State Samyukta ASHA Workers’ Association opposing Central Government’s online payment system, ASHA Soft.
According to D Nagalakshmi the online system, which facilitates the Health Department to capture beneficiary-wise details of services given by ASHA to the community, and also ensure online payment to their bank accounts, is linked to the Mother and Child Tracking System. “The beneficiary-wise details that are uploaded by data entry operators is invariably not done properly due to which most of us get only half pay,” Nagalakshmi said.
She said that workers’ demand was for a fixed salary.
