Bengaluru: The State Government will increase the annual income limit for the Ashraya Housing Scheme from Rs. 32,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh, said Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Friday January 28 here.
Speaking to mediapersons Home Minister said that on the direction of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Secretary and Housing Department Secretary will take measures regarding the issue.
The people of the State were demanding for the rise in the amount available under Ashraya Scheme since few days, which was brought into CM’s notice and the demand for approval, Minister said and stressed that Centre had increased the income limit for BPL families to Rs 1.20 lakh as many those in need were not able to avail the benefit due to the income limited to Rs. 32000.
