Bengaluru: The Assam police have arrested 31 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, who were on their way from Bengaluru to their native places in the neighboring country, at the Guwahati railway station. They were arrested while they were waiting for local trains at the station. All of them had arrived at the station in the Bengaluru express.
According to the statement issued by the Assam police, these immigrants were from various parts of Bangladesh. “They were working in various parts of Bengaluru for the last 2-3 years. After reaching Assam, they were planning to go to Agartala via the Kanchanjunga express. The immigrants informed that hundreds of Bangladeshi families are staying in Bengaluru and are engaged mostly in household and construction works,” said police.
The Assam police have informed that they will send a detailed report soon to their counterparts in Karnataka on the issue.
