Bengaluru: An auto driver was detained by the police on Sunday December 14, on charges of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl near C K Acchukattu two days ago.
Lakshman D (52) is the accused.
DCP (South) B S Lokesh Kumar said, “Lakshman, who was known to the victim’s family lured the girl with chocolates. He took her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her. He also threatened her to not reveal anything about the incident with anyone.”
“The accused lived near the victim’s house. Both families knew each other for a long time”, he added.
On the day of the assault the minor’s parents went out and had asked the neighbors to take care of the child till they returned. When they came back, they found the child crying and complaining of stomach pain. The parents took her to hospital as the child continued crying till late that day. After tests, doctors revealed that she had been sexually assaulted.
Immediately, the couple filed a complaint at the C K Acchukattu police station. The accused was traced by tracking his mobile phone only on Sunday and has been booked under POCSO and has been remanded to judicial custody.
