Bengaluru: Earlier this year, reports surfaced that the Bengaluru City Police had taken a decision to adopt stray dogs as Police Watchdogs in the dog squad. This plan has now been implemented by the Bengaluru City Police.
Recently, Bengaluru City Police commissioner Bhaskar Rao released a video showing how these dogs are being trained.
In his tweet, Bhaskar Rao wrote, “We are training Indies to be part of our Police Canine Unit as an experiment…”

The Bengaluru City Police took to Twitter and wrote, “South division police initiative to adopt and take care of stray dogs received support and public commendation.”
