Bengaluru: Basavanagudi’s annual groundnut fair will start on Monday, December 3. It will be held for two days. The BBMP has made elaborate arrangements for the event, which attracts thousands of residents from across the city every year.
The fair to be held on the roads leads to the famed Ganapati temple in Basavanagudi. Hundreds of groundnut sellers from Magadi and the surrounding areas are expected to participate in this annual fair which starts on the last Monday of the Karthika month.
“Plastics have been banned. All the residents have been directed to bring bags/boxes from their homes to collect the groundnuts,” said a BBMP officer.
According to the authorities, as part of the celebrations, cultural events will be held on Monday and Tuesday evening.
