Bengaluru: The Bengaluru civic body has prohibited animal slaughter and meat sales on the festival of Ram Navami on April 10.
The Joint Director of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) Animal Husbandry Department issued an order on Friday stating a blanket ban on slaughterhouses, animal slaughter, and the sale of meat on Sri Ram Navami.
The latest order is based on a circular issued by BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta on April 3.
