BBMP orders PHCs to increase swab collection

Bengaluru: In response to a steady rise in the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid – 19, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has ordered Primary Health Centres (PHC) to increase swab collection from 100 to 250 per day.

According to BBMP Health Officer Balasundar A. S., the goal is to do 50,000 tests per day, with the civic body able to do 30,000-40,000 tests per day.

In public places such as markets, railway stations, bus stands, and shopping malls, testing will be increased.
