Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has suspended In-Charge executive engineers of Gandhinagar and Yelahanka divisions for failing to meet pothole-filling targets.
Gupta, who ordered their suspensions informed that the two divisions had fallen far behind in achieving monthly pothole-filling targets.
Only 9 per cent of the target has been met by N. S. Revanna, who was assigned to the BBMP’s Gandhinagar division from the port and inland water transport department. As of December 28, the engineer In-Charge had only filled 67 of the 782 potholes.
M. Shivakumar, the Yelahanka Zone’s In-Charge executive engineer, was only able to achieve 18 per cent of the overall target.
The BBMP also issued notices to four In-Charge executive engineers of the road infrastructure division which includes E. Ramakrishnappa of Shivajinagar, H. T. Mohandas of Byatarayanapura, H. S. Mahadesh of Bommanahalli, and H. V. Rayappa Reddy of Dasarahalli for failing to complete the repairs.
