Bengaluru: According to sources, the BBMP’s garbage contractors’ association has threatened to go on an indefinite strike from December 31 in the City.
Members claimed that on December 8, they handed the BBMP a letter detailing their issues. They have threatened to strike if no solution is announced soon.
N. Balasubramanya, Head of the Garbage Contractors’ Association has informed that the strike will be part of the Karnataka Bandh on December 31, and an indefinite strike would begin on January 1.
“We have called a meeting of the contractors with the BBMP Chief Commissioner and Zonal commissioners to listen to their problems,” BBMP Special Commissioner for Solid Waste Management Harish Kumar said.
