Bengaluru: A land audit carried out by the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) has revealed that 50,000 crores worth land belonging to the authority is encroached.
According to the report, 21,000 acres of land belonging to BDA is encroached.
The land audit was launched in 2018. The company which was given work orders has now submitted its report to the Lokayukta. This report is likely to result in a major political storm.
According to the sources, this land audit involves the prime areas including Koramangala, Jayanagar and so on.
In the year 2017, an activist by name Sayidatta had moved to Lokayukta regarding the land encroachment. Based on his petition this audit was carried out.
