Bengaluru: Former Minister, and Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarakiholi, a BJP leader is likely to quit the party.

Jarakiholi who triggered Operation Kamala to bring back BJP to power in the State quit his minister post following the surfacing of a sleaze video.

According to sources, Jarakiholi, who is upset with the BJP’s reluctance to reinduct him into the Cabinet has decided to quit party and join JD (S).

“He held two rounds of talks with JD (S) Leader, and Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy. JDS is hoping that his induction will help the party to win more seats in North Karnataka region where he has considerable influence,” explained a JDS leader.

Jarakiholi didn’t attend the BJP Janasankalpa Yatra in Belagavi indicating that he is not part of party’s plans for the upcoming Assembly election. Jarakiholi’s exit likely to dent BJP’s chances in Belagavi which has 27 Assembly constituencies.
