Bengaluru: State Additional Director General of Police Alok Kumar said that every third Sunday of the month should be the day of aggrieved in police stations of the State. The police officers should hear grievances of the victims and should solve their problems within the legal framework, he added.

Speaking to mediapersons after hearing grievances of victims at Anekal Police Station on Saturday, Alok said that the number of police personnel in Bengaluru Rural District is very less as compared to urban area. Irrespective of this, the staff is working, he said. The ADGPs visit was in the wake of warning to more than 20 rowdy-sheeters in Anekal Police Station limits ahead of State Assembly elections, in order to prevent any untoward incident from happening in Bengaluru Rural District.

He said, ‘Like in the city, there are more cases in the rural district as well. Therefore, the police should instill confidence in the people in order to prevent crimes,” he added.
