Bengaluru: Assistant Professor addicted to betting undertakes theft

Bengaluru: Police on Saturday November 5 arrested a former Assistant Professor addicted to betting for allegedly breaking into a house in the City and robbing gold chain of a senior citizen.

The arrested accused has been identified as Suresh G. Patil (35), a resident of Madanayakanahalli. He broke into a house in Basaveshwaranagara and robbed a gold chain on October 31 from a senior citizen at knifepoint, informed the police.

The officers said that the accused sold the 45 gm gold chain and obtained Rs. 2.5 lakh.
