Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party will begin its ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra’ from January 21 to 29 with an eye on the upcoming Assembly election.
BJP National President J. P. Nadda will launch the campaign in north Karnataka’s Vijayapura on January 21. The event will be attended by local MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, former Chief Minister B, S. Yediyurappa, BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel, and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to mediapesons, Higher Education Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan said, “We have set a target to reach out to at least 1.5 Crore to 2 Crore people in this duration.”
The party will organise a door-to-door campaign throughout the election to inform voters of the welfare programmes being implemented by the BJP governments in the State and Centre.
“As many as 58,800 booths will be used for the drive at once. The initiative will include participation from ministers, MLAs, and party officials,” he added.
