Bengaluru: Former Supreme Court advocate and spokesperson for the Congress party Brijesh Kalappa, who left the party a few months ago, officially joined the Aam Aadmi Party in the presence of the State President Prithvi Reddy and the party’s state in-charge, Dilip Pandey.
“I was in Congress for over 25 years and realised that you had to be a family member, a son, or a close friend of someone to be an MLA in that party or you need money. I wanted to run in 2018, but even in 2023 I was unable to get a ticket,” said Kalappa.
“In Congress, talent is nothing. I would still be a mere worker even after 50 years,” he remarked.
Brijesh claimed that despite receiving an offer from the ruling BJP, he joined the AAP since it suited his profile. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has insight into voters’ minds and, like Mahatma Gandhi, can identify the right issues,” he added.
