Bengaluru: CM to urge corporates to adopt historical monuments

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is planning to write to corporates urging them to adopt monuments in the State so as to find more takers for the Government’s scheme to preserve heritage structures.

At the meeting with Tourism Department recently Bommai had informed that the guidelines for the scheme has been issued. He instructed to launch a website with details about the monument and cost of adoption. The Department has been asked to coordinate with the Commerce and Industry Department to see that the monuments are adopted.

It can be recalled here that Bommai, in the 2022-23 Budget, announced, Adopt a Monument Scheme to protect and develop archaeological buildings.
