Bengaluru: The peripheral ring road (PRR) project was reviewed by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday January 11. He urged the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to proceed with the project with all seriousness.
According to sources, the closed-door meeting was held with BDA senior officials.
There was no response from the bidders despite two attempts by the BDA to take the 65 km project forward by inviting tenders. The lack of clarity on the compensation plan for land losers is one of the main reasons. While the BDA had proposed compensation based on the old rates, the land losers demanded that the authority apply the recent regulations for determining compensation.
According to officials, a meeting has been arranged to discuss the next steps with the Advocate General of Karnataka, especially in light of the Supreme Court’s order that the BDA must pay compensation based on the date of notification.
