Bengaluru: In connection with drug dealing, smuggling of red sander wood, chain snatching, extortion, phone theft, robbery, and other offences, the North Division police have arrested 61 persons and seized items worth more than Rs. 2 Crore.
City Police Commissioner C. H. Pratap Reddy discussed the operational achievements of the officers from the 15 police stations in the North Division during a news conference on Wednesday August 17.
He said that the suspects in 89 cases had been arrested.
An Ivory Coast national, who was living in Bengaluru since 2012 on an expired visa was also arrested.
He was arrested for selling drugs, and Reddy said that 1.9 kg of charas and 5 kg of ganja were seized from him.
He said that 3 others from Rajajinagar were arrested for drug smuggling and had 662 gms of MDMA was recovered from them.
Red sanders worth Rs. 35 lakh and 772 kg were found on him after two Andhra Pradesh locals were arrested for trying to sell it.
