Bengaluru: To compete with other countries, the field of education must undergo rapid change, said Higher Education Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan.
The Minister claimed on Friday September 9 that India is lagging behind when it comes to revolutionary changes in education made in countries such as Japan, Germany, and China. “If there is not a rapid change in education, we will lose out in the global competition,” he said.
The importance of comprehensive and multidisciplinary education, skill development, physical education, and technology use are some of the things that are emphasised in NEP. He went on to say that it’s important for the educational system to develop talent.
He also emphasised the necessity of improving the country’s institutions and teaching. “There should be an improvement in the country in terms of teaching. We must find a balance between competition, sustainability, ethics, and value,” he said.
