Bengaluru: The Garden City, which always enjoyed a soothing weather, but over the last few days Bengalureans are complaining of acute fluctuation in the weather. The residents here feel that days are getting hotter only to drop below average in the nights.
Truth is out. Meteorological Department data has confirmed the fear of general public. According to the temperature data collected by the Meteorological Department, Bengaluru center has proved that in this November both maximum and minimum temperature of the city was above and below the average temperature respectively.
According to the Meteorological Department documents, average temperature of Bengaluru city in the night time of month of November is 18 degree Celsius. But now it has breached this with city temperature recording as low as 13.1 degree C on Saturday at the Kempegowda International Airport. Further, according to the Meteorological data, average maximum temperature for the city in the day time in the month of November is 27.2 degree C. But on Saturday city recorded 31.5 degree C- a record high temperature for the month of November is 31.7 degree C.
According to Meteorological Department officials, huge gap between minimum and maximum temperate may be due to the failed northeast and the southwest monsoons. “This year we were expecting high temperature in the night time too due to drought like situation, But for our surprise winter nights are recording less temperature compare to average temperature for the city,” explained a senior officer from IMD, Bengaluru,.
