Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday September 21 said that his government is ready to discuss corruption during the session as opposition members of the Legislative Assembly requested the Speaker to let them speak about the alleged 40 per cent commission to contractor’s issue.
Opposition leader Siddaramaiah presented the motion to discuss the alleged commission scam within the BJP government. “This, however, cannot be permitted because the notice makes no mention of a specific problem,” said Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri. Also, it needs to have happened recently if any member wishes to speak in accordance with Rule 69 (Adjournment Motion), he added.
BJP MLA from the Kuduchi Assembly constituency P. Rajeev moved an adjournment motion to speak about corruption under the rule of the Congress (2013-18). Members of the BJP and Congress engaged in a heated argument as a result.
However, CM said, “We are ready to talk about corruption. We will find a solution if we talk about it. In this session, the Speaker should choose a time for it.” Kageri said he will allow discussion in the House on the matter.
