Bengaluru: JD (S) leader, Former Minister H. D. Revanna, elder son of former PM HD Deve Gowda will contest from two constituencies in the upcoming State Assembly election.
He will contest from family turf Holenarasipura and Hassan City Assembly constituencies.
A senior JD (S) leader informed Newskarnataka that presently, the Hassan constituency is represented by BJP youth leader Preetham J. Gowda. “JD (S) ‘first family wants to defeat him as he is constantly taking on the family. Revanna’s wife Bhavani wants to contest. But following the feedback that she may not be able to defeat Preetham, Revanna himself decided to contest. If he wins from both constituencies, he will vacate Holenarasipura to Bhavani,” he explained.
“Former CM H. D. Kumaraswamy also approved this proposal,” he said.
JD (S) first family is witnessing a cold war for the last few days after Bhavani openly expressed her desire to contest from the Hassan constituency. H. D. Kumaraswamy made it clear that the party will not give a ticket to her.
