Bengaluru: Just ahead of the popular Gowri Ganesha Chaturthi celebration, the State Health Department has made masks compulsory in public places.
On the evening of Monday August 29, the State Health Department issued an order in this regard. This decision has been taken on the backdrop of the rising Covid – 19 cases in the State in the past few weeks.
The Health Department also advised against crowding at the time of various festivals lined up in the auspices month of Shravana including Gauri Ganesha, Mahalaya Amavasya etc. Mask has been made compulsory for all children above 5 years of age.
According to the authorities, this decision was taken as per the advice of the Technical Advisory Committee of the State Government.
