Bengaluru: The Higher Education Department plans to revamp a number of its systems to ensure that its operations are transparent.
Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday December 7, Principal Secretary Rashmi Mahesh said that the revamp will have a four-tiered grievance redressal system that allows for tracking as well as Adalat for pension-related cases involving retired staff and faculty.
Higher Education Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan said that the aim is to get rid of duplicity in the state’s higher education system. For information to be accessible to the department, officials, university, and college, there should be a single point of entry for stakeholders. The two best practises that are being promoted globally are unified data and digital learning. Therefore, these must be practised in all higher education institutions, he added.
The decision was made to allow students to communicate in both English and Kannada in colleges said DCTE Commissioner Pradeep P. The decision to let students write exams in either English or Kannada has also been approved, he added.
