Bengaluru: A 41-year-old Software Engineer who is allegedly experiencing mental health issues as a result of his unhappy marriage and career has been held after making three hoax calls to the Chief Secretary’s office at Vidhana Soudha on Friday October 6, alleging that he had planted bombs.
He made the calls from his mobile phone at 2.06 pm. The accused was picked up from his home in Hebbagodi on the Hosur Main Road on Friday night after a joint operation by the Central, South East division police team and the jurisdictional Hebbagodi police of the Bengaluru Rural police.
The accused Prashanth is a native of Hosapete. He is a mechanical engineer who works as a techie and, after divorcing his wife, he lives with his parents. Prashanth was also unhappy about the repeated breakups.
According to sources, he allegedly lost his job seven months ago and was suffering psychological problems. He is accused of making similar calls to other places regularly, picking random contact information from the internet.
