Bengaluru: The State Government has decided to regularise the colonies inside the private land. This means the illegal colonies and residential areas will be regularised. The move is expected to help the government to streamline the land records
According to the government notification, layouts over 250 population or 50 houses or those colonies which are within a one-kilometre radius of the existing revenue villages will be regularised. A final decision will be taken by DCs of the respective districts.
According to an estimation, around 1,000 such colonies are in State which is not paying any taxes to the government.
It can be recalled that the State Government has taken up the process of converting the lands and the residential colonies of the nomadic communities.
