Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court ordered the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to post all details on Arkavathy Layout using satellite imagery on the internet with the help of other departments and e-governance after observing that the BDA should preserve transparency in its activities.
While deciding two appeals brought by BDA against the judgement of August 2, 2022, made by the single judge regarding transparency, a division bench of Acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty ordered BDA to web-host Arkavathy Layout details.
According to the court, which modified the single judge’s orders, “We find that BDA is a statutory body, which deals with the public. With regard to the transparency of the BDA’s activities, the single judge’s orders have raised a crucial concern. It must function openly and web-host all necessary details about the layouts formed.
