Bengaluru: The State Government has increased the MBBS course fee in private medical colleges by 10 per cent ahead of the medical seat allotment process.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting between the government and the representatives of the private colleges.
According to the new fee structure, a student needs to pay Rs. 1,41,360 for government quota seats in private colleges per year. Rs. 9,81,956 will be the fee per year for the COMEDK quota seats in the private colleges.
According to sources, the private colleges were demanding a 15 per cent hike. After the discussion, a 10 per cent increase was allowed.
However, no fee revision was made for the government medical college seats.
