Bengaluru: The State is all set to organise a three-day national workshop on used water management will begin on Wednesday November 16. According to the official statement, those associated to Bengaluru’s municipal administration and urban development departments are the target audience for the workshop.
“This workshop being organised in association with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban 2.0 will deliberate on used water management for less than one lakh population in an area of priority. It has been envisaged that 100 per cent of the urban local bodies will be open defecation-free and 50 percent of urban local bodies will re-use treated used water,” read an official statement.
The planning and implementation approach for water management in cities with less than one lakh residents would also be covered in the programme.
To mark World Toilet Day, a national event with the theme “India Sanitation 2.0” will be held on November 18.
